Nutritional Quality of Grain and Stover Residues

Apart from the urgent need for improvement of the staple crops production quantity, the focus of recent efforts is drifting to the improvement of the staple crops nutritional quality. This issue is most critical in the context of developing countries where significant portion of population suffers from malnutrition. Therefore, simultaneously with understanding the physiological traits influencing drought adaptations, we need to develop the knowledge of how could the same traits potentially influence the nutritional quality of the crops production.

This work is a close collaboration with ILRI and Nutri Plus, which provides access to lab and technical expertise.
