World Vegetable Center (WorldVeg) is a non-profit, international, intergovernmental agricultural research and development organization focusing on realizing the potential of vegetables for healthier lives and more resilient livelihoods. WorldVeg is a member of the Association of International Research and Development Centers for Agriculture and commits to support smallholder agriculture within sustainable and climate-smart landscapes through the increased production and consumption of nutritious legumes and vegetables.  WorldVeg’s South and Central Asia regional office situated in ICRISAT-Patancheru’s campus hosts its legume breeding program (mungbean, urban, soybean, cowpea, and yard-long bean); promotes good agricultural practices, home gardens, urban/peri-urban vegetable production and marketing for income generation, nutritional security, diet diversification, and health. WorldVeg has established the International Mungbean Improvement Network (IMIN). In an on-going research collaboration with WorldVeg, team GEMS is characterizing the mungbean elite and mini-core collection for climate-adaptive traits and grain quality.
